Each group focuses on different aspects of student life, providing opportunities for engagement, advocacy, and event planning.
We're looking for passionate, friendly, and creative students to join our Residence Life Team! Whether you're a natural leader, event planner, community builder, there's a role for you. Available positions include: Operations Coordinator, Creative Coordinator for RainBEAU Committee, Creative Coordinator for Res Wellness Team, Chair, Creative Coordinator for Res Consent Project. Eligibility: must be a registered SMU student living in residence for 2025/26 academic year.

Each student group consists of three leadership positions:
The Multicultural Committee celebrates diversity and promotes cultural awareness within residence. Through events, discussions, and activities, this group fosters an inclusive community where students can share their cultural identities and experiences.
The RainBEAU Committee creates a welcoming space for students to express and celebrate their gender and sexual orientation. The team organizes events such as Drag Queen Bingo, Pride Panel, Queer Prom, and more.
The Res Wellness Team empowers students to make healthy decisions regarding alcohol, drug use, and self-care. They host workshops, self-care events, and educational booths to promote a balanced lifestyle in residence.
The Res Consent Project focuses on educating students about consent, sexual health, and preventing sexualized violence. This team encourages open conversations and creates a culture of respect and safety through events and awareness campaigns.
The Res AfterDark Team plans late-night, alcohol-free events that provide fun and safe alternatives for students. These events create an engaging residence experience while promoting social connections and well-being.
Residence Assistants (RAs) are student leaders who support their peers by fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive living environment. RAs play a key role in building community, assisting residents, and coordinating events within their assigned residence buildings. This position offers a rewarding leadership experience, professional development, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the residence community.
